The Boys Season 2 Reveals Major Details About “The Female” Kimiko’s Tragic Past

The Boys

In this article, we are going to talk about a web television series, The Boys, and its latest release – Season 2. The TV series belongs to the action-fiction superhero genre and is based on the characters from DC Comics. It premiered on 26th July 2019 on Amazon Prime Video. The original comic-book was created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and the series has been developed by Eric Kripke. It has been produced by Hartley Gorenstein and Gabriel Garcia.

The Boys is set in a timeline where the planet is inhabited by superpowered individuals and they are seen as heroes by the general public. These heroes are owned by an organization named Vought International that markets and monetizes these heroes. But just because the society looks up to them as heroes do not mean that they actually are on their flip side. The show portrays the arrogant and corrupt side of these so-called “superheroes” and hence the entire unit of heroes is divided into two teams due to the difference in their mentality. One is the company’s premier superhero team named Seven and is lead by the arrogant and egoistical, The Homelander. The other team i.e., The Boys is lead by Billy Butcher who hates the members of Seven and thus aims to keep them in line.

The Boys – Arch Nemesis of The Seven

Season 1 kickstarted with the abovesaid premise and now here we are into 2020 with the second season. If you haven’t started viewing the second season then here’s the official trailer to the same:

Well, looking from the trailer it seems that this time it’s going to be one epic showdown between The Boys and The Seven. It seems quite obvious that The Boys are much weaker compared to The Seven but this time they have someone on their end who might turn out to be the trump card against The Seven. I’m talking about the character, “The Female” aka Kimiko Miyashiro. The Boys stumble onto her only to find her locked in a cage in a Triad hideout beneath a grocery store, under heavy security. The protagonists first take her to be the victim looking at her state but when they dig a little deeper they find out that she’s equally badass and savage as the members of The Seven. Investigations into her past lead The Boys to witness her extremely violent activities of rage killings and trail of blood. Season 2 is all about this character and how she’ll help The Boys in defeating The Seven and Vought International.

The Seven who act like they’re The Justice League of America which they actually aren’t.

Kimiko along with Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie learn about a terrorist who possessed telekinetic abilities and is on the loose. With Kimiko being on the side of The Boys, Butcher (leader of The Boys) makes a deal with Mallory to capture this terrorist in exchange for his wife Becca who is revealed to be alive at the end of Season 1. The terrorist is none other than Kenji, Kimiko’s brother. The siblings were captured when the Shining Light Liberation Army captured them after raiding their village and killing their family. They served in the army for many years until Kimiko was smuggled to the US and was injected with the Compound V while her brother remained in the army and met the same fate as hers. Kenji, later on, witnessed his village being raided by the Americans who laid a massacre after their attack. This boiled his blood and he vowed revenge on them. Hence, Kenji is in the US. But the siblings find themselves at odds with each other as Kimiko is with The Boys who protect the Americans and Kenji is on his path of revenge against them. Kimiko confronts Kenji but the event is immediately interrupted by The Seven’s newest recruit – Stormfront who prepares to launch an attack on Kimiko. Kenji steps in to protect her sister and in turn die brutally at the hands of Stormfront. Hence, the story unfolds as to who would win at the end, The Boys or The Seven.
