The COVID-19 pandemic has been a serious buzzkill this year. It has been the worst thing that we as 21st-century human beings have faced so far. Watching people around us get infected and die, locking ourselves in our homes, getting to know that our favorite sports tournaments, live events, the release of upcoming movies and TV shows have all been postponed or canceled; everything has been for the worst. The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series whose tenth season premiered on AMC on 6th October 2019. The second half of the series got premiered on 23rd February 2020. The series is an adaption from the comic book version which was published by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The tenth season is the final season of the series and was scheduled to air on 12th April 2020 but the production got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it was announced that the remaining episodes will be aired at a later date in 2020.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Release Date

Trailer to Season 10 of The Walking Dead was released on 19th July 2019 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The season premiere was made available to stream on 29th September 2019, on AMC Premiere. But the production was halted by AMC right before the release of the season finale, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The production studios had decided to release the season finale on 12th April 2020. The sixteenth episode was supposed to be the last episode of the season but due to the coronavirus pandemic situation obstruction in coordination was taking place between the worldwide production studios who were bestowed with the responsibilities of special effects.

For now, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding the final release date of the season finale but showrunner Angela Kang has teased that necessary information regarding the release will be disclosed in the virtual Comic-Con event i.e., [email protected] taking place on July 24, this year.

What will be the plot for Season 10?

The focal point of the story in this season of the Walking Dead is the Whisperer War and it all lies over the communities in the various affected regions to come together and find a solution to silence the Whisperers once and for all. Based on the comic, the Whisperers are an intimidating group of survivors who wear the skin of the dead to disguise themselves.

In Season 10 this battle with the Whisperers is the ultimate battle that the survivors are preparing for. According to AMC, this battle is unavoidable and military-style action will be present. Alpha’s dreadful display of power has taken over the entire geographical region and he has forcefully imposed new borderlines over habitable areas of the surviving communities. As the survivors fight against Alpha’s zombies, showing their frustration and reluctance to comply with Alpha’s orders, he prepares for the big battle and is backed by a massive horde of the dead.

Alpha has strengthened his side to such an extent that it seems impossible for the survivors to win the war. The difficulties and the challenges which the survivors face will test them as individuals and as a society.
