Queen of the South Season 5: When It Will Release?

Only a few web series are there where the most badass character is played by a woman in a lead role. One such series is Queen Of The South, and in this article, we are going to talk about its upcoming fifth season, its potential plot, and its potential cast members. Queen Of The South is an American crime drama television series. It has been developed by M.A Fortin and Joshua John Miller. The series first premiered on the USA Network on 23rd June 2016. Later, it was also featured on Netflix. The series is based on the Spanish novel La Reina del Sur by Spanish author Arturo Perez-Reverte.

The TV series has received some exceptional reviews and responses from all around the world. IMDb has marked the series at 7.9/10, Rotten Tomatoes at 68%, and Google at 4.8/5.

In August 2019, the USA network ordered the renewal of the series to a fifth season. The renewal announcement came in the right after the ending of Season 4. The previous seasons usually started premiering in June and got concluded in late August or by early September, in their respective release years. Hence, if we would have followed the trajectory, the release of Season 5 would have been around the same time this year. But things did not go according to plan. Here’s a teaser trailer for Season 5 by TV Promos.

The series began its filming in March 2020 and was planned to premiere by June. But just like most TV shows, movies, and animes, the production of this series has been put on a halt due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Filming of the series hasn’t been resumed yet, and there is no notice on its exact date of release.

The filming of Season 5 began in March of this year but was put on a pause due to the ongoing pandemic.

Fans of the show are speculating that the season might release by March 2021. However, without any official word, the rumors cannot be trusted. As of now, there’s no telling when the filming of the fifth season might resume and when it will premiere.

Season 4 ends with Teresa cutting a deal with the Russian mob, and it clearly seems that they are going to be the primary nemesis in Season 5. James returns at the end of Season 4, all bloodied, and bears a message for Teresa, where he said, “They’re coming for you”. The term “they” might refer to the Russians or the DEA or an old foe from the previous seasons.

Season 5 will see Teresa buckling up to save her empire from her enemies after she was warned by James.

James a long gap to his presence in-between before returning at the very end of Season 4. Season 5 will be dealing with the whereabouts of James as to where he was, what he was doing for all this time, why did he make the return, etc. The fifth season will be basically dealing with all the unanswered questions and confusion from the previous seasons and will help the viewers in seeking their answers.

With no announcement on the release date of the fifth season, it seems we may have to wait longer than the traditional release cycle to see what it brings but rest assured that this time Teresa will be gearing up to save her empire and fight tooth and nail to protect it from her enemies.
