We cannot be more excited to announce that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is finally official and has even got a release date. It is going to be the seventeenth installment of Call of Duty series overall and the sixth one of the Black Ops series. However, before it’s launch, a beta version will be released for testing how it works on different devices. Let’s get to know more about it.
Published by Activision, and developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, the upcoming game will be the direct sequel to Black Ops.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta Release Date
The beta version is expected to release sometime in early September, that is two months before the release of the full game. The access to the beta of Black Ops Cold War will be available only to the players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, who will order the game in advance, that is, if it will be pre-ordered digitally. Just like the past games, the first one to receive the beta version will be PlayStation 4, due to the exclusive collaboration with Sony/PlayStation. However, in case you want to try the beta version, even without pre-ordering it, you can do that in a public beta weekend, that lets all the players irrespective of the platform to try the beta.
Basically, a beta is a small fragment or specimen of the contents present in the original game. It will be released only with a small selection of weapons, equipment, kill streaks and perks. Even the game modes and maps will not be given for full access in the very beginning.
The official version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be launched on November 13, 2020 and will be available on Various platforms that includes Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. The revelation of the game’s campaign occured on August 26, 2020, and on September 9, the multiplayer mode of the game is scheduled to be revealed.
Although the game has taken a lot of time to release the trailer, the wait was worthwhile. The new trailer, captured on PlayStation 5 comes with great lighting effects.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Gameplay
Although the details are yet to be confirmed on multiplayer, the leaks on the PVP maps suggest that COD classics— Jungle, Nuketown, Firing Range and Summit will be coming for Cold War again, but in remastered form. According to another Twitter leak, Blackout might be returning in an enhanced form, which was first added to Black Ops 4 in 2018, and will be included with Cold War instead. We may also witness the return of the Zombies mode, which has remained an exciting part of COD history.
Inspired by actual events, the first-person shooter video game is set during the early 1980s, in the situation of Cold War. The campaign will be featuring hard truths of the historical figures, who battled around the world through incredible locals including— Turkey, Vietnam, East Berlin, Soviet KGB headquarters and more. The former President of the United States, Ronald Reagan will take a starring role in the upcoming game. The President gets to know about a Soviet spy, named Perseus— who aims at subverting the US and bend the balance of dominion in the direction of the Soviet Union. He authorizes a black operation, which is headed by CIA officer Russell Adler with his SOG group in order to counter Perseus.
