Drunk History TV Show is Cancelled After 6 Amazing Seasons, There Will Be No 7th Season

Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner’s Drunk History is cancelled for its seventh season. Yes, we know that this news is highly surprising and unexpected but it is officially confirmed. Though it is a bit weird that the series was cancelled mid-way after it was renewed for its seventh season. The renewal of the seventh season was announced just after the sixth season of the show finished its airing. All the fans out there were very eager and excited about it but now things are no longer that way.

The series made its debut in the year 2013 and became a big hit. It received huge appreciations and positive response from all its viewers and critics as well. And, the show aired its sixth season in August 2019 that showed us different sketches that depicted historical events. It was all typically centred on a theme but also covered a wide swath of history. It made us look into the history of many cities, of many historical figures including Roosevelts.

There are many reasons for this sudden cancellation that are coming out through various sources. One of them is the series was overall quite expensive to produce. Featuring a big cast and extensive period costuming and set pieces all of these were costing a bit high for the production to handle. The other reason states that Comedy Central is increasing its focus towards adult-cantered animation series in the vein of the South Park. Though, we can’t be fully sure of anything here. While it is also true that the production of the seventh season was halted due to the corona virus pandemic restrictions.

The show starred, Bill Hader, Jenny Slate, Jack Black, Michael Cera, Kristen Wiig, Kumail Nanjiani, Jordon Peele, Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Courteney Cox, Maya Rudolph, Aubrey Plaza, Seth Rogen, Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Will Ferrell, Tesa Thompson, Lin—Manuel Miranda and many others that made the show a memorable one for every one of us.

Everyone’s sentimental favourite the series was widely loved by everyone. The sixth and unexpectedly the final season of the show is currently inside for three Primetime Emmy Awards; including Outstanding Variety Series, as well as nods for the series’ costumes and production design. Since 2015 the series “Drunk History” is continuously nominated for Outstanding Variety Series. Well, after all this it looks really uncertain that why all of a sudden the series is cancelled.
