‘Foundation’ Season 2: The Uncertain Future of the Cleons and the Prime Radiant

As the highly anticipated third season of the AppleTV+ series Foundation approaches, many questions still linger about the characters and their fates. Demerzel, the cunning and power-hungry character, has made a significant power grab by eliminate the Cleonic dynasty and taking control of the prime radiant, which contains crucial research and information. This development now places her in a strong position to shape the future of the empire. However, the fate of the Cleons and the prime radiant remains uncertain. Brother Dawn and Empress Sareth, desperate to reclaim the Empire, have escaped with a potential heir to the Cleonic throne, but their whereabouts and support system are unknown.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hari Seldon and Gaal, the brilliant psychohistorian and his protégée, are trapped in cryosleep, with no clear indication of when they will awaken. This raises concerns about who will protect them from the deranged and sadistic mentalic, the Mule, who threatens to destroy them. The demise of Salvor Hardin has shown that destinies can be altered, which may change the course of events and potentially affect the outcome of the impending war.

The storylines of other characters, such as Constant, the leader of the Foundation colonists, and Poly, who have managed to escape the destruction of Terminus, also remain unclear. Constant, now separated from Hober Mallow, has proven her strength and capability, and it would be interesting to see her continue as a leader with the guidance of Hari in the vault.

As Demerzel holds the key to the future and fate of the empire, the foundation of the show’s narrative is built on the unresolved questions about the characters’ trajectories. The excitement and anticipation surrounding the upcoming season can only be fueled by the unresolved questions, and it will be intriguing to see how the showrunners address them in the coming episodes.
