Michelle Yeoh’s action-packed stunts in the 1992 film Supercop have cemented her status as an action movie icon, showcasing her exceptional physicality and skill. The motorcycle jump stunt, in particular, is a breathtaking display of her courage and dedication. In it, Yeoh, who did not know how to ride a bike prior to filming, learns to ride from scratch and executes the stunt flawlessly. The stunt, which has been hailed as one of the greatest ever filmed, was a major factor in Yeoh’s success in the film.

Supercop, the third installment in Jackie Chan’s Police Story franchise, follows two Hong Kong detectives as they team up to take down a Chinese drug lord. The film, which was a crossover success in Hong Kong and the United States, features impressive fight choreography and stunts, with Yeoh delivering many of the film’s most memorable moments.

Renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has praised Supercop, stating that it features the greatest stunts ever filmed in any movie. The motorcycle jump, in which Yeoh rides her bike onto the roof of a speeding train, is just one of many incredible stunts in the film. While Chan is known for his impressive stunts, it is Yeoh who takes on the most daring and spectacular stunts in Supercop.

The dedication and physicality required to pull off such stunts are a testament to Yeoh’s mastery of action movies. She has since gone on to establish herself as a leading action star, with memorable performances in films such as Everything Everywhere All At Once and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

The motorcycle jump stunt in Supercop is just one of many iconic bike stunts in movie history, joining the ranks of classics such as Buster Keaton’s Sherlock Jr. and Ethan Hunt’s daring dive off a cliff in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. However, Yeoh’s stunt stands out due to its simplicity, boldness, and the fact that everything seen on screen is 100 percent real.

Supercop is available to rent or buy on Apple TV+, and it is a must-see for fans of action movies and stuntwork. Yeoh’s performance, including the legendary motorcycle jump, showcases her exceptional physicality and skill, making her one of the greatest action heroes to grace the screen.
