In a video posted by Hemsworth on his X account, he and Henry hinted at the unique nature of the trailer premiere, declaring it will take place “in SPACE!” Hemsworth emphasized the film’s boundary-pushing approach, suggesting that “the sky’s the limit” with Transformers One, promising audiences an experience that will transport them “out of this world.”

This animated feature, slated to hit theaters on September 13, 2024, is a significant milestone for the franchise, being its first animated film since 1986’s Transformers: The Movie. CinemaCon 2024 provided the first insights into the plot, revealing that Transformers One will go into the origin story of iconic characters Orion Pax and D-16, who later become sworn enemies Optimus Prime and Megatron. Voiced by Hemsworth and Henry respectively, the duo’s casting was announced in 2023, alongside a star-studded voice cast including Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, and Steve Buscemi.
The 40th anniversary of the Transformers franchise, celebrated in 2024, is marked by various collaborations and events. Hasbro announced special releases like the Chevy Corvette Optimus Prime figure and a commemorative comic book from Skybound Entertainment. Additionally, fans can enjoy a theatrical screening of the original ’80s cartoon episodes.
