The mysterytic rivalry between Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder, played by Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins respectively, was a cornerstone of FX’s beloved neo-Western Justified. Despite their intense onscreen antagonism, the two actors recently revealed that their off-screen relationship was far more amicable.

Despite their deep connection to the characters, Olyphant and Goggins found themselves at odds during Justified’s run due to their contrasting perspectives on the plot. As Goggins expressed, their intense dedication to their characters, who were polar opposites, led to passionate discussions.

“We were so deep into these people we were playing, and they were so polar opposite at this point in the story… I think we were both obsessed with our own points of view, just carrying the weight of this conflict,” Goggins admitted in an interview.

Despite the initial friction, the two actors eventually reconciled after the show ended. They recognized the need to step back and reconnect with respect and understanding.

Today, Olyphant and Goggins are both busy going successful post-Justified careers. Olyphant stars in projects like Alien and Havoc, while Goggins takes on diverse roles in Fallout, The Uninvited, and The White Lotus.

Despite their successful individual endeavors, the two actors remain close and recently reunited in Thailand while working on separate projects.
