Action star Frank Grillo is set to take on lycanthropes in his upcoming movie Werewolves, scheduled for release on December 6, 2024.
Known for his roles in The Purge series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, Grillo will be joined by Katrina Law (NCIS), Ilfenesh Hadera (Godfather Of Harlem), James Michael Cummings (City On The Hill), and Lou Diamond Phillips (Prodigal Son). Directed by Steven C. Miller and written by Matthew Kennedy, Werewolves promises a thrilling ride.
The movie’s plot centers around a supermoon event that triggers a latent gene in humans, turning anyone exposed to the moonlight into a werewolf for one night, causing chaos and massive casualties. As the supermoon returns a year later, the world braces for another night of horror.
Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group, the film’s distributors, are excited to bring Werewolves to theaters.
Myles Nestel, co-CEO of The Solution, praised the film’s impressive cast and the practical effects crafted by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr., known for their work on the Alien franchise and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Nestel highlighted the film’s return to the werewolf genre’s roots in a “fresh and exciting way.”
In an interview with MovieWeb, Grillo described Werewolves as “The Purge meets werewolves,” emphasizing the action-packed nature of the film and the impressive practical effects featuring seven-foot-tall werewolves.
Directed by Steven C. Miller, who has invested significant effort and resources into post-production, the film promises to be a standout in the werewolf genre.
