The Acolyte’s episode 5 has left viewers stunned as Manny Jacinto’s character, Qimir, was revealed as The Stranger, a cunning Sith mastermind behind the Jedi assassinations. The unexpected twist caught everyone off guard, especially since Jacinto initially claimed his role was that of a citizen involved in a larger mission. Qimir’s true nature was gradually revealed over the course of the series, with episodes 6 and 8 dedicating more screen time to exploring his origins. Meanwhile, Amandla Stenberg’s characters, Mae and Osha, will take center stage, with their character journeys receiving priority treatment.

The Star Wars franchise is no stranger to dramatic plot twists, and The Acolyte’s fifth episode delivered a moment akin to a Game of Thrones-style slaughter, sending shockwaves through the story. The series’ creator, Leslye Headland, has promised that more will be revealed about The Stranger’s past, particularly in episodes 6 and 8. Despite Qimir’s villainous role, the cast’s promotion of the series has been a topic of interest, with Jacinto initially keeping his character’s true nature under wraps.

During an interview at Star Wars Celebration Europe, Jacinto claimed that his character was simply a citizen who got pulled into a larger mission, which proved to be a fabrication. His initial claim was that he didn’t get to play with lightsabers, instead opting to watch his co-stars and marvel at their skills. However, it’s clear that Qimir’s true intentions were far more sinister. As the series continues, fans can expect more revelations about The Stranger’s past, as well as the further development of Mae and Osha’s character arcs.

The Acolyte is set to air episodes 6 and 7 on July 2nd and July 9th, respectively, before concluding with the season finale on July 16th. With a rich narrative and intricate characters, the series promises to explore the mysteries of the galaxy and the emergence of dark-side powers in the High Republic era. As fans eagerly await the next installment, The Acolyte’s sci-fi world is sure to charm and leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
