Jeremy Madix, the brother of Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, has found himself in trouble with the law after a recent arrest on allegations of marijuana trafficking. The 32-year-old was stopped at Orlando International Airport in February while attempting to board a flight to Germany with a friend. During a search of their luggage, customs officials discovered a large amount of green leafy substance in vacuum-sealed bags that tested presumptive positive for cannabis. The bags, which were labeled with Jeremy’s name, contained 64 bags weighing approximately 76 pounds of the plant product.
Jeremy was taken into custody in California before being extradited to Florida, where he was officially arrested on July 10, five months after the initial discovery. According to his attorney, Jeremy was not arrested immediately due to a pending investigation. The lawyer has requested a “reasonable bond” citing Jeremy’s employment and education in California, as well as his strong family network, and argues that he should not be considered a flight risk.
Jeremy’s mother also submitted a letter to the judge, describing her son as a “loving son” and a “kind person.” The judge set Jeremy’s bond at $80,000 and ordered him to surrender his passport. Ariana has not commented on her brother’s legal situation, despite her own recent high-profile scandal involving ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval and co-star Rachel Leviss.
