Glo Hampton, the new leader of the pack, is poised to take the world of competitive dance by storm in the latest reboot of Dance Moms, titled A New Era. As the principal of Studio Bleu, Hampton is determined to lead a new group of talented young dancers and their overbearing mothers to the top, but the road to success won’t be easy. With a career spanning 40 years, Hampton is no stranger to the industry, having worked with students who have gone on to dance professionally on Broadway, in music videos, on tours, and in movies.

Hampton’s teaching style is a far cry from that of her predecessor, Abby Lee Miller, who was known for her harsh and demanding approach. Hampton emphasizes the importance of teaching from a place of love and kindness, believing that this motivates her students to work hard for her. “I’m just anxious for everyone to see what I do and what I’m good at,” she shares, eager to showcase her students’ talent and dedication.

The new iteration of Dance Moms offers a fresh take on the competitive dance world, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Hampton acknowledges the progress made in recent years, citing the promotion of Misty Copeland to principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre as a significant milestone. However, she also recognizes the challenges still faced by dancers, particularly those from underrepresented communities.

As the show streams on Hulu, viewers can expect a new era of drama, dance, and self-discovery. Coach Glo is ready to usher in a new generation of talented dancers, and with her guidance, they’ll be sure to shine. Hampton’s dedication to her students and her craft is evident, and her passion for dance is infectious. With her expertise and love of dance, she is the perfect coach to lead the next generation of dancers.
