Prabhas’ Kalki Sequel Promises Epic Action and Thrills

The highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film “Kalki 2898 AD” has generated significant buzz among fans, with the production team sharing an update on the project’s progress. According to producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt, around 35 to 40 percent of the shoot has been completed, and the production is set to restart in the second quarter of 2025. The goal is to wrap up the remaining scenes by the end of the year, ensuring a timely release.

The sequel, which continues the narrative of Bhairava (Prabhas), will see him turning protector for Sumati (Deepika Padukone) and her unborn baby. Director Nag Ashwin has previously revealed that the second installment will be less time-consuming than the first, as the team has already established the world and characters. The initial film, which has broken numerous records, including becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, has performed exceptionally well in various international markets, including India, North America, and the UK.

The success of “Kalki 2898 AD” has sparked talks of expanding the Kalki Cinematic Universe, with the producers eager to introduce more titles. The movie, boasting an impressive cast, including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Hasan, has been dubbed the most expensive film of 2024, with a budget of $72M from India and a global box office haul of $140M.

Despite the lack of an official release date announcement, the anticipation surrounding the sequel is palpable, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on the project’s progress. As the cast and crew work on the remaining scenes, fans can rest assured that the sequel will deliver epic action and thrilling performances, living up to the expectations set by the first installment.
