The Thanksgiving celebrations for these Modern Family stars didn’t go as expected. On November 28, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen, who portrayed siblings Mitchell and Claire in the popular sitcom, both ended up in the emergency room with their children.

Julie, who has sons Oliver, 17, and twins John and Gustav, 15, with her ex-husband Scott Phillips, shared a photo of one of her children standing in front of the emergency room.

She captioned the image, “It’s not a holiday without a trip to the ER. (He’s fine, btw) HAPPY THANKSGIVING.”

But Julie wasn’t the only former TV Pritchett to find themselves at a hospital over the holiday. Jesse’s husband Justin Mikita replied to Julie’s post with, “Us too.”

Soon after, Jesse, who shares sons Beckett Mercer, 4, and Sullivan ‘Sully’ Louis, 2, with Justin, posted a picture of one of their kids lying on his chest from a hospital bed. Thankfully, the child had an older sister by their side.

Jesse captioned his November 28 post, “I have received a lot of parenting wisdom from @itsjuliebowen, so seeing I wasn’t the only one with a kid in the ER on Thanksgiving was comforting.”

Fortunately, Jesse reassured everyone that the situation wasn’t too serious. “(He’s also fine.) Thank you to the kind folks at Lennox Health. NYC really DOES have the best healthcare,” he wrote.

Sofía Vergara, who played Jesse’s onscreen stepmother, also expressed concern, commenting with three red hearts, “Oh no!!!!”

However, everything seemed to be okay as Jesse later shared a sweet photo on his Instagram Story of his son dressed in a suit, gazing out of an ornate window onto the route of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

He captioned the November 29 image, “Thankful for friends who are helping us build memories of our kids.” Indeed, having a front-row seat to the iconic, balloon-filled parade is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
