Plans for Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the Evil Queen as the fairest of them all face uncertainty when Rachel Zegler, playing the titular Disney Princess, seeks to restore her Kingdom in the newly released trailer for Disney’s Snow White remake, which dropped on Tuesday.
As Snow White (Zegler) flees into the woods to escape her stepmother, portrayed by Gadot, she encounters her beloved sidekicks — Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy — who offer her shelter. But instead of taking refuge, Snow White asks for their help.
“The Queen stole everything from all of us. I’m going to need your help. It’s time to restore our Kingdom,” the West Side Story star tells her woodland companions from inside their quiet cottage.
The trailer also offers a first listen to Zegler’s powerful ballad Waiting on a Wish, while Snow White confronts the Evil Queen disguised as an old woman, who presents her with the poisoned apple that seals her fate.
Disney’s Snow White is one of the studio’s biggest films for the year and serves as a key part of its spring 2025 lineup.
Produced by Wicked producers Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, and directed by Marc Webb, this live-action musical reimagines Disney’s classic 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, featuring new songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the composers behind The Greatest Showman.
Originally set for release in March 2024, the film was delayed by a year due to the SAG-AFTRA strike last year.
Disney’s Snow White also stars Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman and Martin Klebba as Grumpy.
