Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller ignite chemistry in their latest survival-action film, The Gorge, a high-stakes thriller set to premiere on February 14 on Apple TV+.
The first trailer, released on Saturday by Apple Original Films, teases an adrenaline-fueled journey as the pair venture to a remote location to guard a deeply buried secret.
Penned by Zach Dean and directed by Scott Derrickson, The Gorge stars Taylor-Joy and Teller as Drasa and Levi, two elite snipers stationed on opposite sides of a vast, classified gorge. Their task? To prevent the mysterious and sinister threat lurking below from escaping into the world.
The story’s tension is evident in a line from Levi’s comrade: “You need to stop what’s in the gorge from coming out. The gorge is the door to Hell, and we’re standing guard at the gate.”
Despite strict orders to avoid contact with the outside world—and each other—Drasa and Levi soon find creative ways to connect, exchanging notes and flirtatious glances through binoculars, evoking the charm of a Taylor Swift music video.
However, their playful interactions take a dramatic turn when the gorge’s defenses are compromised. Levi plunges into its depths, and Drasa dives in after him, forcing the pair to unite in a battle to preserve the gorge’s dark secret. “This place is evil,” Drasa warns as the stakes rise.
The cast also features Sigourney Weaver in a commanding role as a stern government official, resembling a Miranda Priestly-esque figure, who assigns Levi to the perilous year-long mission.
Beyond his starring role, Teller also serves as an executive producer for the project. The film is produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, alongside Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Sherryl Clark, Dean, Adam Kolbrenner, and Greg Goodman under the Crooked Highway banner.
