Charlie Cox, known for his portrayal of Daredevil, appears set to feature in at least one of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Avengers films.
Cox gained acclaim as Matt Murdock in all three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil and the crossover series The Defenders. He later reprised the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and 2024’s Echo.
Before his return in the new live-action series Daredevil: Born Again, premiering this March, Cox will voice Daredevil in the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Recent speculation about Cox’s involvement in an Avengers film arose from a post by DFRNT Health and Fitness, an Australian gym and training facility.
According to their Instagram post, Cox is currently training for his role as Daredevil in an upcoming MCU Avengers movie.
“It’s been awesome having Charlie and his wife, Sam Cox, in DFRNT over the past few weeks!” the post reads.
“Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming @marvel Avengers movie where he will play @daredevil. It’s been our absolute pleasure working with you both and we can’t wait to watch you on the big screen!”
Which Avengers Movie Will Daredevil Appear In?
It’s not yet confirmed whether Cox’s Daredevil will appear in Avengers: Doomsday (2026), Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), or both, as production on these films has not yet begun.
Both Doomsday and Secret Wars are being helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo, renowned for their work on Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Major Casting Updates for the Upcoming Avengers Films
In addition to Cox’s reported involvement, Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars have several notable castings. Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU, but this time he’ll play Doctor Doom instead of Tony Stark, whose character met his end in Endgame.
The main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps—Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach—are also set to appear.
Furthermore, it has been announced that Chris Evans will feature in Doomsday, though his role is currently under wraps.
Release Dates
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit U.S. theaters on May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on May 7, 2027.
Fans of Daredevil and the MCU alike can look forward to seeing Cox don the red suit once again as Marvel’s grand cinematic saga continues.
