Adam DeVine is still rocking the moves that made Pitch Perfect a hit. From “Magic” to “Right Round,” the Treblemakers, Pitch Perfect’s all-male a cappella group, performed many memorable songs in the 2012 comedy. However, one track stands out to DeVine even now.
“My favorite song that I sang in Pitch Perfect [with the Treblemakers] was ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ by Rihanna,” DeVine, 41, exclusively shared on newsstands now. “I still have the whole dance memorized. I destroy at karaoke with that one.”
The movie, which stars Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, and Rebel Wilson, opens with DeVine’s character, Bumper, performing Rihanna’s 2007 hit with the Treblemakers during the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.
DeVine finishes the routine with a dramatic split, prompting ICCA commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden (Elizabeth Banks) to exclaim, “Sexy man splits!” Her co-commentator, John Smith (John Michael Higgins), quips, “His pain is our gain, Gail.”
From Pitch Perfect to Podcasting
DeVine, who cohosts the iHeartRadio podcast This Is Important alongside his Workaholics costars Anders Holm, Blake Anderson, and Kyle Newachek, reprised his role as Bumper in Pitch Perfect 2 and later starred in the Peacock spinoff series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin.
