Kendra Wilkinson is embracing the changes in her life and isn’t shy about addressing online criticism.
The Girls Next Door alum and former live-in girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner took to Instagram on Sunday, January 12, to respond to negative comments about her appearance, particularly her weight.
“Yes, I’ve gained weight. Yes, I’m aging. Yes, I’m not that girl I was before (Playboy girl) but for once in a long time I feel good and mentally healthy,” Wilkinson, 39, captioned a full-length mirror selfie showcasing her current physique.
The reality star and mother of two, who shares son Hank IV, 15, and daughter Alijah, 10, with her ex-husband Hank Baskett, opened up about her lifestyle.
“Kids are my everything. Feeling pretty balanced. Working out and cooking a lot more. Golf, work. No housekeeper or nanny,” she added.
Wilkinson expressed her contentment with her appearance and overall well-being while acknowledging the need to moderate her alcohol intake.
“For those of you hating on my new weight, 40 yr old face please know that I’m happy, healthy and at peace in life finally. Leave me alone and respect that I’m where I actually want to be finally all together,” she said.
She continued with a playful nod to her upcoming milestone birthday: “Almost 40 is feeling amazing and yes to the people criticizing my alcohol intake…I hear you and that will be monitored better.
Drinking too much is definitely drinking too much but you know what’s coming up in JUNE…. Shots. Love ya,” she wrote, referencing her 40th birthday on June 12.
Motherhood and Family Life
In November 2024, Wilkinson spoke about her pride in her children. “My kids are effing amazing. They’re just the most amazing human beings,” Wilkinson said.
“I pinch myself every day. They’re just good, nice people, just aiming for a good life and to be good and to do good in the world. It’s such a pleasure and it’s just the most amazing feeling to have them. They give me so much purpose.”
The Kendra Sells Hollywood star added that parenting is “a full-time job,” noting her children’s passion for basketball. “They’re both into basketball, and they’re both really, really successful at basketball,” she shared.
Speaking about her son Hank, she added, “He’s on his way to the NBA, like big time, and I hope we all get a chance to see all that happen.”
Life After Divorce
Wilkinson and Baskett were married in 2009 and divorced in 2018. Before their separation, the couple provided an inside look at their relationship through reality TV, including Kendra (2009–2011) and Kendra on Top (2012–2017).
Despite their split, Wilkinson maintains a strong co-parenting relationship with Baskett, 42.
“Honestly, I couldn’t have a better coparent,” she told in October 2024. “I couldn’t ask God for a better person in my life.”
Wilkinson’s candid approach to addressing criticism and celebrating her personal growth showcases her confidence and focus as she approaches a new chapter in her life.
