Long-lost relatives, love letters, and unexpected surprises — XO, Kitty Season 2 delivered everything fans could hope for and more!

Premiering on January 16, the second season of the Netflix series picks up right after Kitty’s (Anna Cathcart) dramatic return to KISS. Season 1 left Kitty nearly expelled, dealing with a breakup with Dae (Minyeong Choi), receiving Min Ho’s (Sang Heon Lee) heartfelt love confession, and uncovering her bisexuality.

In Season 2, Kitty sets her sights on unraveling more about her late mother’s life. However, despite her determination to avoid drama, the “Chaos Queen” finds herself once again swept up in a whirlwind semester full of conflicts and emotions.

The season culminates in a high-energy talent showcase, a heartfelt family reunion, and the resolution of a blackmail plot. Along the way, Kitty navigates complex love triangles and gains new insights into her feelings, leading to an emotional twist ending. The finale leaves some questions unanswered but hints at Kitty’s next steps.

How did XO, Kitty Season 2 end?

The students at KISS prepare for a high-stakes talent showcase organized by Min Ho’s wealthy and influential father, Young Moon (Philippe Lee), who also happens to be a new professor at the school. The grand prize includes a generous cash reward and the chance to join Young Moon and his favorite son, Joon Ho (Peniel Shin), on an exclusive summer tour.

In an unexpected turn, it’s Eunice (Han Bi Ryu), Dae’s semi-girlfriend, who wins the competition — thanks to Kitty’s clever intervention to stop Min Ho’s new girlfriend from ruining the event or tarnishing Mr. Moon’s reputation.

Meanwhile, Kitty discovers new truths about her mother’s time at KISS. She learns that her mom had been working to reunite their family in South Korea before her passing. With Min Ho’s help, Kitty finally achieves the reunion she’s been longing for, including a touching cameo from her oldest sister, Margot Song Covey (Janel Parrish).

In the final scene, Kitty seeks out Min Ho to share some exciting news and confront her growing feelings for him. However, Min Ho surprises her by revealing his plans to join his family’s summer tour. Kitty boldly asks if she can come along, leading to a promising nod of agreement.

Who is Stella, and why was she blackmailing Min Ho’s family?

Season 2 introduces Kitty’s mysterious new roommate, Stella (Audrey Huynh), whose real name is Esther. Stella initially presents herself as a friend but harbors a secret agenda. After asking Kitty to help her get close to Min Ho, Stella begins dating him — though her true intention is revenge against Mr. Moon, who humiliated her during a singing competition years prior.

Stella sets up hidden microphones to collect incriminating evidence against Mr. Moon and launches an anonymous Instagram account, MoonLeaks, to expose his alleged misdeeds, including lawsuits, NDAs, and even his hair plugs.

Kitty eventually uncovers Stella’s scheme but hesitates to expose her when Min Ho expresses that Kitty has already hurt him once. Min Ho later pieces together the truth himself. Confronting Stella, he learns her ultimate goal: to ruin his family by leaking scandalous information, including a claim that Joon Ho fathered a child with a backup dancer, and pinning MoonLeaks on Kitty.

Stella’s plans extend to sabotaging the talent showcase, but Kitty intervenes. With Kitty’s encouragement, Min Ho confesses everything to his father. Joon Ho takes responsibility for his actions and reveals his intentions to marry the backup dancer. Together, they orchestrate a surprise engagement during Stella’s performance, which leads to Mr. Moon removing Stella from the competition and apologizing for his past mistakes.

In her final confrontation with Min Ho, Stella admits that while her initial intentions were vengeful, she eventually developed genuine feelings for him. However, she acknowledges that she could sense his heart wasn’t fully in their relationship.

Who is Simon, and how did Kitty bring her family together?

In Season 1, Kitty learns about her mom’s connection to a man named Simon during her time at KISS. Initially suspecting a romantic link, Kitty discovers in Season 2 that Simon was actually her mom’s cousin. A tape from a time capsule reveals that her mother came to South Korea to mend broken family ties.

Kitty learns that her grandmother had moved to the U.S., leaving behind her sister in South Korea after a betrayal fractured their relationship. Before her passing, Kitty’s mom had been working with Simon to reconcile the family.

Determined to continue her mother’s work, Kitty tracks down her relatives and embarks on a road trip to Bukjeon, with Min Ho accompanying her. At the address, Kitty discovers her relatives are professional matchmakers who initially reject her.

Feeling disheartened, she receives a pep talk from Min Ho, who reminds her of her resilience. With his encouragement — and a little help from Yuri, whom her cousin recognizes — Kitty persuades her relatives to hear her out.

Ultimately, her great-aunt agrees to reunite with the family. Margot and Kitty convince their grandmother to travel to South Korea, and Min Ho steps in to provide a private jet when their flight is canceled. The family reunion Kitty had always dreamed of finally becomes a reality.

What happened between Kitty and Yuri?

After breaking up with Dae in Season 1, Kitty realizes her feelings for Yuri (Gia Kim). However, Yuri is in a committed relationship with Juliana (Regan Aliyah), and their budding friendship creates tension.

A heated argument and an emotional viewing of their mothers’ time capsule tape lead to Kitty and Yuri sharing a kiss. However, Yuri quickly dismisses it as confusion and reaffirms her love for Juliana, asking Kitty to keep their kiss a secret.

Drama ensues when Stella exposes a love letter Kitty wrote to Yuri, leading to Juliana breaking up with Yuri and Praveena (Sasha Bashin), Kitty’s new romantic interest, ending things with Kitty. Yuri distances herself from Kitty but later reconciles, helping her convince her cousin to reconnect.

By the finale, Yuri and Kitty remain friends, but Yuri learns that Juliana has moved on and is now dating Praveena.

Where do Kitty and Min Ho stand?

Min Ho’s confession of love at the end of Season 1 leaves Kitty conflicted. Over the course of Season 2, the two grow closer as friends, with Min Ho supporting Kitty during the fallout from the ski trip drama. Their bond deepens, and Kitty begins to realize her feelings for Min Ho.

In the final episode, Kitty confesses her emotions, but Min Ho surprises her with his plans to leave for his family’s tour. After an emotional goodbye, Kitty stops him and asks to join him on the trip. He silently agrees, setting the stage for their next chapter together.

What’s next for Kitty?

Initially planning to spend just her junior year at KISS, Kitty nearly left after her expulsion scare in Season 1. However, the Season 2 finale sees Principal Lee granting her an extension of her Heritage scholarship, ensuring her return for another year.

With no official renewal for Season 3 yet, fans can anticipate that Kitty’s story is far from over, especially as she embarks on Min Ho’s family tour during the summer break.
