Katie Maloney’s subtle romance with Nick Martin, the guitarist from Sleeping With Sirens, has captured the attention of Vanderpump Rules fans ever since she first opened up about their connection.
In an October 2024 episode of her “Disrespectfully” podcast, Maloney revealed her relationship status to the surprise of listeners.
“I have a boyfriend,” Maloney announced to her cohost, Dayna Kathan. “Yeah, I’m in love, everybody. I’m really happy.”
Although she didn’t mention Martin’s name at that point, she described him as “the most wonderful person I’ve ever met,” adding, “He’s very lovely and just makes me feel really special and he’s really special and, yeah, I’m just really happy.”
Later in October, Vanderpump Rules cast member Scheana Shay confirmed that Martin was the mystery man in Maloney’s life, clarifying rumors about the relationship.
“There’s been some things online recently. I’ve seen little bits and pieces. But let me tell you, he could not have been nicer,” Shay said on her own podcast.
“He’s from San Diego, and we just talked about that. Then I ran into them again later back at the hotel at the end of the night, and [he] was just such a sweet guy. I caught the end of their set.”
As the months passed, Maloney shared more about her relationship with Martin, including photos. Their romance blossomed two years after her split from Tom Schwartz, her ex-husband of six years. Schwartz, who divorced Maloney in 2022, has since moved on with Sophia Skoro.
In an October 2024 podcast update, Maloney spoke fondly of their time together. “This weekend, I went to go see my boyfriend. He has to travel for work, so I went to go meet up with him and hang out with him and spend some time,” Maloney shared.
“It was really amazing ’cause I hadn’t seen him in a few weeks, and just being able to, like, spend some quality time and just be around him was really necessary and really nice.”
Shay confirmed that she had met Martin in person, recounting an encounter at an event. “We were all by the artist trailers in the hangout area [at an event] and he and Katie were walking up while I was standing at the taco truck in line getting food. I said hi to her,” Shay remembered on her “Scheananigans” podcast. “She introduced me to her boyfriend.”
Shay continued, sharing her positive impression of Martin: “We actually left Fall Out Boy a little early because they were playing at the same time. But I wanted to check out Sleeping With Sirens. I wanted to see what the band was all about. They were really good.”

Lala Kent, another Vanderpump Rules star, joked about Shay inadvertently revealing Maloney’s relationship, saying, “Scheana Shay was the one that confirmed Katie Maloney’s relationship. She told me, ‘I accidentally confirmed it.’”
Kent playfully poked fun at Shay’s candidness, commenting, “[Katie and Nick] haven’t confirmed [their relationship] because what I read is he is going through a messy divorce and they have to keep it quiet.”
In November 2024, Schwartz expressed his support for Maloney, telling he was “so happy” for her and Martin.
“I haven’t met her new man, but I’m so happy for her,” Schwartz said. “I mean it, I love to see her happy.”
Schwartz also gave an update on his relationship with Maloney, noting, “We’re buddies. We’re not BFFs — I don’t want to overhype it, but we’re cool. We’re in a good place. We’re buddies again. There’s no friction or tension.”
By December 2024, Maloney had shared a photo of herself holding Martin’s hands on Instagram, marking another public display of affection.
Later that month, she celebrated Martin’s birthday on Instagram, posting a heartfelt message: “Happy Birthday” along with a sweet photo of the couple. This marked the first time Maloney had publicly acknowledged their relationship since rumors began circulating months earlier.
The couple also spent their first Christmas together as a pair in December 2024. Maloney’s mother, Teri Maloney, shared several photos of the couple enjoying the holiday celebrations.
In January 2025, Martin celebrated Maloney’s birthday with a heartfelt message and an adorable couple photo. The two later traveled to Utah together.
That same month, Maloney opened up about their romance on her podcast, offering rare insights into their relationship. “He just is so thoughtful. I was friends with him for a long time before anything happened and honestly wasn’t on my bingo card.
I didn’t expect to fall for him, but I did and it happened really quick,” she said. “I think we just both were on the same page with things. I just always thought he was just so kind and thoughtful and supportive. He’s been nothing but supportive since the day I met him basically.”
She went on to say, “I just feel really lucky and fortunate, and he just is always just there. He’s so patient and loving and he’s so nice to my family, which is really important. I love his family and his friends. I just feel very, I’m a lucky, lucky gal. He was the most wonderful person I met.”
