Shannon Beador is stepping in for Jennifer Aydin on a reality cruise after The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was let go following drama involving Jersey Mike’s.
“I’m so excited to sing karaoke with the fans on the cruise!” Beador, 60, said in a statement on Thursday, January 30. “Everyone knows I’m a rocker!”
Fans at Sea announced on Thursday that Beador, Teresa Giudice, and Dolores Catania will be featured on the “Wives on the Waves” cruise. The event will set sail from New York City to Bermuda aboard the Norwegian Escape from September 19 to 24.
Cruise guests will be able to participate in exclusive activities, including Q&A sessions, photo opportunities, and daily themed events.
“We’re thrilled to bring this unforgettable experience to life for the fans,” said Theresa Lanfranchi, cofounder of Fans at Sea, in a statement.
“This cruise will be an immersive adventure filled with exclusive events, personal connections, and unique opportunities for fans to engage with Teresa, Dolores, and Shannon.”
The announcement about The Real Housewives of Orange County star’s involvement came just days after a representative for the “Wives on the Waves” cruise confirmed that Aydin would no longer participate in the event after she criticized employees at Jersey Mike’s.
Aydin went viral earlier this month when she complained about waiting “what felt like forever” at a Jersey Mike’s location at an airport.
“This decision wasn’t personal or an act of canceling anyone. At Fans at Sea, we believe in second chances and personal growth,” said Patrick Harbison, a spokesperson for the cruise.
“Our priority is to create a drama-free, fun-filled experience for all our guests. To ensure this, we made adjustments to keep the cruise enjoyable and welcoming for everyone.”
Aydin shared with Us how she found out about her removal from the cruise. “Someone messaged me [while I was on vacation] to tell me I was cut from the cruise. I had no idea,” Aydin exclusively told.
“My manager didn’t want to tell me because she didn’t want anything to ruin my trip. Then, I went to the website and saw my name wasn’t there. You know what? I took it like a champ.”
Aydin accepted the cruise’s decision. “This is business, and it’s their business. I don’t want them to receive any backlash because of me,” she told.
“The cruise sounded like a fun opportunity because I love engaging with the fans, but it’s all good. The timing wasn’t ideal for my family. The kids are going back to school that week, and my kids were already upset that I had committed to doing it. Everything happens for a reason.”
She continued, “I understand this is purely business, and I respect the cruise’s decision.”
