While both Lala Kent and Scheana Shay made appearances in season 2 of The Valley, only one of them brought the on-screen drama.
During the Thursday, January 30 episode of Heather McDonald’s Juicy Scoop podcast, Lala, 34, discussed her cameo on The Valley. “I wouldn’t say I’m a big part of it. I pop in,” she explained. “At that point, I’m very, very pregnant. We’ll see what makes the cut. It just made sense.”
Lala, however, was more eager to watch Scheana’s scenes unfold. “Scheana is a part of it,” she shared. “I think she gets her hands a little bit dirty, which I love.”
In addition to Lala and Scheana, 39, Tom Schwartz and Brock Davies are also set to appear in the Vanderpump Rules spinoff. The Valley began production before Bravo confirmed a major cast shake-up for Vanderpump Rules season 12.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” executive producer Alex Baskin said in a statement in November 2024.
“With deep appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for audiences to meet a dynamic new group of coworkers and friends navigating life together.”
Bravo initially paused Vanderpump Rules season 12 after the cast fractured following Tom Sandoval’s breakup with Ariana Madix due to his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. While the new lineup has yet to be revealed, several former cast members have spoken openly about embracing the changes.
“I’m excited for what’s ahead outside of Vanderpump Rules, but I’m also a nostalgic person, and saying goodbye is never easy,” Scheana reflected on the December 2024 episode of her Scheananigans podcast.
“Lala and I had a good cry about it on the podcast—it’s been such a big part of my life for so long. But I also think it was time. Honestly, everything feels right. It’s still all happening, just a little differently.”
Scheana admitted that the season 12 news didn’t catch her off guard.

“The hardest part about not returning for season 12 is not working with the crew anymore. I loved our crew, and I hope we get to collaborate on other projects because we became like family,” she shared.
“That was definitely the most difficult part. The whole thing is bittersweet. It’s sad to say goodbye, but I’m also excited for the new servers and the next chapter of their lives.”
Vanderpump Rules Season 12: What’s Next?
While reflecting on this new chapter, Scheana made it clear that she isn’t looking to mend fences with her former costars.
“I don’t plan on changing anything I’ve been doing. I still text Ariana here and there. I ran into Katie [Maloney] at a festival, but I’m not going to reach out more or less,” she explained.
“I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve always done because, show or no show, these people have been in our lives for so long.”
She concluded, “So it’s like, ‘When I see you, I see you. When I don’t, I’m living my life.’ I’m just staying on the same path I’m on and looking forward to new adventures.”
Meanwhile, The Valley continued to follow its original cast after the show’s successful first season. Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute are returning for season 2, alongside Luke Broderick, Danny and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally, and Jason and Janet Caperna.
