Fans of The Bachelorette will have to wait a little longer for the next installment, as the popular dating show is set to take a break this summer.
While the network has not officially canceled the long-running reality show, sources indicate that The Bachelorette is unlikely to return in 2025. However, a future comeback has not been ruled out entirely. The exact reason for the hiatus remains unclear.
This isn’t the first time a show from The Bachelor franchise has been put on hold. In 2024, Bachelor in Paradise was skipped to make room for The Golden Bachelorette. The last time The Bachelorette took a break was during its 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Bachelor in Paradise Returns for Season 10
While Bachelor in Paradise did not film its 10th season last year, ABC confirmed in July 2024 that the series will return this summer.
“We’re heading back to the beach in 2025! #BachelorInParadise,” the network announced via Instagram.
Debuting in 2014, Bachelor in Paradise brings former contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette to the beaches of Mexico for another shot at finding love.

In a January episode of the Lightweights podcast, the 28-year-old reality star revealed that he won’t be reaching out to fellow cast members ahead of filming.
“I know in the past it’s gotten people in trouble for DMing people, talking to people. I want no bad blood, I want no animosity hanging over my shoulders,” Johnson explained. “I don’t want any pressure to be placed upon me before I can do it myself.”
He added, “If somebody’s excited to meet me, maybe they have said it—awesome. I would be more than happy to talk to them. I just want to go in open-minded and meet somebody with a clear slate.”
ABC’s Golden Bachelorette Expands to 90-Minute Episodes
In October 2024, Bachelor in Paradise host Jesse Palmer shared his excitement about the upcoming season and teased new elements being added to the show.
“I do know some of the ideas that are being pitched around. I know there’s a lot of different stuff sort of in the Bachelor universe that they’re putting into this,” Palmer, 45, told. “It sounds like a lot of the old, and it sounds like there are some new ideas being floated in as well.”
Palmer also expressed his eagerness to return to filming. “I really missed going to the beach this past year,” he admitted. “Wells [Adams] and I were hanging out a little while ago, and we were both talking about how stoked we were to go back.
So I can’t wait for that time to come. I just hope maybe there’s going to be some sort of Golden iteration as well.”
