Drake may have had a tough time during Super Bowl 2025 on Sunday, February 9, but if he was feeling down, he didn’t let it show during his concert in Melbourne, Australia.
Just hours before Kendrick Lamar took the stage in New Orleans, Drake made a generous gesture by giving away $45,000 to fans at his show, as seen in social media footage. He first noticed a woman in the crowd holding a sign that read “Adonis for President,” referring to his 7-year-old son.
“You’re showing a lot of love to my son, so on behalf of me and Adonis, we’re going to give you 25 grand,” Drake told the fan during his performance. Another fan caught his attention with a sign that read, “Kiss me, it’s my birthday.”
“It’s a tough read on the kiss, but what I am going to do is I’m going to give you 20 grand, and I’m going to pay for a birthday dinner for you and all your friends,” Drake said in response.

In addition to the cash gifts, Drake extended an invitation for both fans to return for another concert free of charge.
“If you want, you can come back to the show again. Both of y’all, if y’all want, we’ll get you tickets,” he added.

Drake has a history of generosity toward his fans. During a concert in Kansas City in March 2024, he offered to pay off a fan’s deceased mother’s mortgage, a gift worth six figures.
“You said, ‘[Pay] off my mom’s house, rest in peace.’ Your mom passed away? Alright. And you owe … ,” Billboard reported Drake saying to the fan at the time. “Oh, this is the outstanding balance right here. This is a lot of money right here.”

“But you know what, I’ma pay off your mama’s house for you,” he added. “That’s gonna come from me. Rest in peace to your mama. Hold on, wait. Rest in peace to Jennifer Schumer. Rest in peace. I love you.”
Drake made another grand gesture in February 2024 when he gave $100,000 to a fan in Nashville after noticing her sign that read “Just finished chemo.”
“I hope my manager doesn’t kill me ’cause I’ve never really done this much, but, listen, I want you to cash this in at the end of the night,” The Tennessean reported him telling Lauren Schwallie, who overcame breast cancer in 2022.
“One thing led to another and I was at the front of the stage and Drake blew me a kiss and told me that he loved me! That’s all I was focused on … and then just like the money on top of it is just insane,” Schwallie told the outlet.
