Michael Vlamis (Roswell, New Mexico) and Iddo Goldberg (Snowpiercer) have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey.
Details about their characters remain undisclosed, as most roles have been kept under wraps. Leading the ensemble is Matt Damon, portraying Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, whose arduous journey home following the Trojan War serves as the story’s central focus.
Based on Homer’s epic poem, the literary classic explores themes of heroism, loyalty, intelligence, and the battle against divine intervention.
The tale follows Odysseus as he faces legendary challenges, including encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in his long-awaited reunion with his wife, Penelope.

Nolan’s film boasts a star-studded cast, including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, and Maurice Compte.
Universal Pictures will release the mythological action epic, filmed with cutting-edge IMAX cameras, on July 17, 2026—a prime summer slot that Nolan has favored for previous blockbusters, from The Dark Knight to Oppenheimer.
Best known for his leading role on The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, Vlamis recently premiered his feature directorial debut, Crossword, at the Austin Film Festival. The thriller, in which he also stars, features Harvey Guillén, Sarah Ramos, and Aurora Perrineau. He is represented by Artists First and CESD.
