Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean) has been cast as a lead alongside Chase Infiniti and Ann Dowd in The Testaments, Hulu’s sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale.
Like its predecessor, The Testaments is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood. The sequel is created by Bruce Miller, who also serves as showrunner, continuing his role from The Handmaid’s Tale.
Set more than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments takes place in the oppressive theocracy of Gilead.
The story follows three women—Aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti), and Daisy (Halliday)—whose lives become deeply intertwined as they uncover Gilead’s secrets and the resistance fighting against its rule.

Halliday’s character, Daisy, is a young Canadian teenager whose life is thrown into turmoil when she discovers her ties to the Republic of Gilead.
As previously reported by Deadline, there are hopes that The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss will guest star in the sequel, reprising her role as June, a character connected to both Agnes and Daisy.
Miller executive produces The Testaments alongside fellow Handmaid’s Tale executive producers Warren Littlefield of The Littlefield Company and Steve Stark, with MGM Television serving as the studio.
Scottish actress Halliday recently completed work on the feature film California Schemin’, directed by James McAvoy. She is represented by Curtis Brown Group and Myman Greenspan Fox.
