Veteran rock band Foreigner has announced a Canadian leg for their ongoing Farewell Tour, but longtime vocalist Kelly Hansen will not be fronting the group.
Having initially launched their Farewell Tour in 2023, Foreigner has continued to expand the run, now extending into November 2025 with 13 newly announced dates across Canada.
Geordie Brown Steps in as Lead Vocalist
Instead of Kelly Hansen, who has served as the band’s frontman since 2005, the role will be filled by actor and singer Geordie Brown.
Brown is best known for starring in Foreigner’s own stage production, Jukebox Hero – The Musical, where he originated the lead role in 2018. The musical had a sold-out run in Toronto in 2019, further cementing his connection to the band.
Brown has also shared the stage with Foreigner before, performing “Hot Blooded” during their 2019 Halifax concert, and was present for their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Additionally, he is set to reprise his role in Jukebox Hero when the production returns in 2026.

Foreigner Band
“I was most impressed by Geordie’s performances of Jukebox Hero – The Musical in Canada,” said Foreigner’s Mick Jones. “He is not only a consummate vocalist but a verified Broadway actor to boot. We look forward to welcoming him at our shows on Foreigner’s 2025 Canadian tour.”
“I count myself so fortunate that they’re bringing me along on this next chapter with the musical and this Canadian tour,” added Brown. “Right now, I’m most looking forward to our Halifax show, for my hometown crowd.”
As of now, no official reason has been given for Hansen’s absence from the tour.
Foreigner’s Legacy and Upcoming Tour Dates
Founded in 1976 by former Spooky Tooth guitarist Mick Jones, Foreigner released their self-titled debut album in 1977. They hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1981 with their aptly titled fourth album, 4, which featured hits like “Urgent” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You.”
However, their biggest single came in 1984 when “I Want to Know What Love Is” topped the Billboard Hot 100 as the lead track from Agent Provocateur.
Over the years, Foreigner has undergone multiple lineup changes, with Mick Jones remaining the sole original member. However, he has been absent from live performances since 2023. The band was officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October 2024 by Sammy Hagar.
Foreigner’s Canadian tour kicks off in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on October 21, 2025, and wraps up in Kelowna, British Columbia, on November 7, 2025.
