Ye may have moved on from various projects in recent years, but he certainly holds onto his grudges. The 47-year-old artist has continued his one-sided feud with Kendrick Lamar by criticizing one of the Compton rapper’s past performances.
In 2022, Kendrick Lamar performed while seated in the front row at a Louis Vuitton fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. His set featured songs from his 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, including “Savior,” “Rich Spirit,” “N95,” and “Count Me Out.”
An Instagram account recently reshared the performance, noting that Lamar rapped without a backing track. However, the artist formerly known as Kanye West was not impressed. “I hated this so much,” he commented.
His criticism may also stem from the fact that the show was a tribute to the late Virgil Abloh, a close collaborator of Ye’s, whom he has also admitted to feeling jealous of.
This marks Ye’s latest jab at Kendrick Lamar. Just weeks ago, Playboi Carti released his new album Music, featuring the Compton rapper on three tracks: “Good Credit,” “Mojo Jojo,” and “Backd00r” alongside Jhene Aiko.

“I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC,” Ye declared on X. “HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”
The Vultures artist also criticized the Pulitzer Prize winner’s widely praised diss track “Not Like Us,” writing, “I HAAAAAATED NOT LIKE US.”
Ye’s apparent disdain for Kendrick Lamar publicly surfaced during Super Bowl LIX weekend, which coincided with Lamar’s scheduled performance at the Apple Music halftime show.
Charlamagne Tha God speculated that Ye’s animosity might stem from jealousy, particularly over Kendrick’s ability to outmaneuver Drake—a feat Ye himself had failed to accomplish.
The two rappers previously collaborated on “No More Parties In LA,” a track from Ye’s 2016 album The Life Of Pablo. Given Ye’s recent remarks, it appears that will remain their sole collaboration.
