The 2020s have proven to be a challenging period for the superhero genre, as numerous films have failed to meet expectations and deliver the excitement audiences crave. From once-promising franchises to outright misfires, this decade has been marked by a series of underwhelming superhero movies. Here, we explore the top ten worst superhero films of the 2020s, ranked from number ten to number one.

At number ten is *Secret Society of Second Born Royals* (2020). This Disney Channel Original Movie had high aspirations but ultimately fell short, characterized by bland execution and an abundance of clichés. Following closely at number nine is *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania* (2023), the MCU’s latest offering in Phase Five, which failed to deliver on its promise of excitement. The film suffered from a jumbled plot and poor pacing, leaving viewers disappointed.

Eighth on the list is *The New Mutants* (2020), a film that had the potential to be intriguing but was marred by production issues, rewrites, and a lack of coherence. Coming in at seventh is *Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins* (2021), which presented a clichéd and predictable origin story that contributed little of substance to the franchise.

In sixth place is *Fearless* (2020), a low-budget animated film that was forgettable due to its lack of creativity and charm. At number five, we find *Bloodshot* (2020), in which Vin Diesel’s portrayal of the titular character was hampered by a predictable and absurd script that failed to engage audiences.

*Madame Web* (2024) lands at number four, marking Sony’s misguided attempt to create a new universe devoid of Spider-Man, resulting in a fragmented and poorly executed film. In third place is *Thunder Force* (2021), which, despite its good intentions, faltered due to lazy jokes and underdeveloped characters.

Taking the second spot is *Morbius* (2022), a complete trainwreck that achieved a kind of legendary status for its ineptitude, featuring a clichéd script and subpar visuals. Finally, at the top of the list is *Wonder Woman 1984* (2020), a disappointing sequel that failed to live up to the original, with a tone that felt like a slap in the face to dedicated fans.

These films exemplify the disappointing and often frustrating view of the superhero genre in the 2020s, highlighting the challenges faced by filmmakers in delivering compelling stories that resonate with audiences.
