Kate Winslet recently opened up about the body shaming she endured after her role in Titanic and revealed that she confronted some of the individuals who made the cruel comments.

In a heartfelt interview, Winslet became emotional as she recalled the intense scrutiny she faced regarding her weight following the success of the James Cameron film.

“It was absolutely appalling,” she said, tearing up after a clip was shown of someone criticizing her dress size. “What kind of a person must they be to do something like that to a young actress who’s just trying to figure it out?”

When asked if she had ever confronted those responsible for the remarks, Winslet shared that she had.

“I did get face-to-face. I let them have it. I said, ‘I hope this haunts you,’” Winslet recounted, her voice breaking with emotion.

“It was a powerful moment, not just for me but for everyone who has ever faced that level of harassment. It was horrific, truly terrible.”

The Lee star also reflected on a recent incident during the filming of her latest project. Winslet revealed that a crew member suggested she adjust her posture to conceal her “belly rolls.”

“There’s a scene where Lee is sitting on a bench in a bikini,” Winslet told. “And one of the crew came up between takes and said, ‘You might want to sit up straighter.’

So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?”

Winslet emphasized her pride in her body and the importance of embracing her natural self. “It is my life on my face, and that matters,” she said. “It wouldn’t occur to me to cover that up.”
