Wedding bells are sounding for Paris Jackson and her boyfriend, Justin Long! In the early hours of Friday, December 6, the singer — who is the only daughter of the legendary Michael Jackson — took to Instagram to share the exciting news in a carousel post to celebrate Long’s birthday.
Among the photos included in the post was a heartfelt image of her boyfriend, whom she affectionately refers to as “Blue,” down on one knee holding a small box in a beautifully gilded room.
Jackson, 26, expressed her happiness and love in the caption accompanying the post, writing, “happy birthday my sweet blue. doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind and i couldn’t dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. thank you for letting me be yours. i love you.”
She also offered a glimpse of the special moment on her Instagram Stories. These included a close-up photo of Long as he placed a sparkling engagement ring on her finger and a tender moment capturing her crouched down to kiss and embrace him following the proposal. Paris Jackson began her relationship with Long in 2022.
A Look at the Special Occasion
Jackson’s carousel post for Long’s birthday featured several photos that offered a retrospective view of their time together. The memories included playful snapshots of them sharing kisses in a photo booth and dressed in fun, creative costumes. The engagement announcement was revealed near the end of the photo series.
For the occasion, Jackson opted for a casual yet stylish look of denim shorts paired with a sweater, sheer tights, and knee-high boots, while Long looked effortlessly polished in a crisp white shirt and black pants.
Social Media Insights
Interestingly, Long hasn’t featured Jackson on his Instagram grid since their collaboration at her 2023 performance during the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival. His caption for that performance post was: “@parisjackson at Bottlerock with #glennmatthews @antsalazar @swinghero @adamgguitar.”
Paris Jackson’s Past and Relationships
Prior to this relationship, Jackson was in a two-year relationship with her bandmate Gabriel Glenn, which ended in August 2020.
Jackson has also spoken openly about her journey through heartbreak and her musical inspirations. In a 2021 Red Table Talk interview with Willow Smith, Jackson shared that her music was inspired by “heartbreak,” saying,
“It was the deepest I ever loved someone, it was the most intense I’ve felt so far and the most intense betrayal I felt so far and experienced. It’s definitely closed me off to that, I’m very careful with who I spend time with now and very guarded and trying to protect myself.”
When asked about marriage during the same conversation, she revealed, “I’m not against marriage and if I love someone, sure, but right now my main thing is my spirituality and my music.” She added that having children in the future was a “maybe.”
Speaking on Her Sexuality
In the Facebook Watch series Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn, Jackson shared her thoughts candidly about her sexuality. “I thought I’d end up marrying a chick,” she said. “I’ve dated more women than men.”
She further explained her stance, stating, “I say I’m gay because I guess I am, but I wouldn’t consider myself bisexual because I’ve dated more than just men and women. I’ve dated a man that had a vagina.”
“It has nothing to do with what’s in your pants, it’s literally like, what are you like as a person?” Jackson added during the discussion.
Paris Jackson and Justin Long’s engagement marks the beginning of a new chapter in their whirlwind journey together, as they prepare for what comes next in their lives.
