Emma Heming Willis posted a rare video of her husband, actor Bruce Willis, expressing his gratitude to emergency responders during the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
The brief black-and-white clip, shared on Instagram on Thursday, January 16, showed Bruce, dressed in a hat and corduroy jacket, conversing with police officers on the street. As he shakes their hands, one of the officers is heard saying, “We appreciate you.”
“Spotting a first responder,” Emma wrote in the video caption, “Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a ‘thank you for your service.’” She added, “Yesterday was no different.”
Bruce’s daughter, Tallulah Willis, commented on the video, writing, “This make my heart so freaking full.”
One commenter praised Bruce, stating, “He really is an amazing human — nothing can take that from him,” while another viewer expressed, “Such a beautiful, caring man. They will appreciate it so much too.”
The video was shared as Los Angeles continues to fight the devastating wildfires.
In February 2023, the Willis family revealed that Bruce had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a rare and incurable brain disorder. Since then, Bruce has stayed largely out of the public eye, with occasional photos posted by his daughters on Instagram.
Bruce is the father of 36-year-old Rumer Willis, 33-year-old Scout Willis, and 30-year-old Tallulah Willis, whom he shares with his ex-wife, actress Demi Moore. He is also the father of 12-year-old Mabel and 10-year-old Evelyn, whom he shares with his wife, Emma.
In a September interview with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on Today, Tallulah spoke candidly about the challenges of watching her father cope with frontotemporal dementia.
“It’s hard,” she admitted, acknowledging the painful days but adding, “there’s so much love.” She continued, “And it’s really shown me not to take any moment for granted. I really do think that we’d be best friends. I think he’s very proud of me.”
