Justin Timberlake was forced to cancel the final U.S. show of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour just hours before he was set to take the stage.

The Mirrors singer announced on Instagram on Thursday, February 27, that he had to call off the performance due to illness. Timberlake had been scheduled to perform in Columbus, Ohio, marking the last stop of his North American tour.

“You guys. I’m heartbroken. I have to cancel the show tonight,” Timberlake, 44, wrote in a message shared on Instagram. “I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me.”

Expressing his regret over the cancellation, Timberlake apologized to fans and reassured ticket holders that they would receive refunds.

“It kills me to disappoint you and my team who have worked so hard to make this show happen. I want to reassure you, you’ll be getting refunds for your tickets,” he continued, signing off with, “I love you all.”

While many fans expressed disappointment in the comments, they also showed support, understanding that Timberlake’s health must take priority.

“I’m sorry to all who had tickets tonight. Big hugs. It’s OK to be in your feelings about it. But please also remember he is human too & sometimes things happen even though we take every step possible to try to prevent them,” one follower wrote.

“I know he feels so bad about having to cancel. You can be sad, disappointed, etc but please be kind to him”.

Another fan added, “Take care of yourself, Justin. I know you are heartbroken the tour ended this way. We love you so much, never forget that.”

Thursday night’s concert had already been rescheduled once before due to Timberlake’s health. Originally set for October 2024, the show was postponed when the singer was diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis.

“Hey guys – I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.

“I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates listed above. Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you.”

Earlier in the day, Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, had shared a heartfelt tribute to the SexyBack singer as he prepared to wrap up the U.S. leg of his tour.

“There’s truly nothing this man can’t do,” Biel, 42, captioned an Instagram post before Timberlake was forced to cancel the show. “It’s been so special to watch you, listen to you, and be alongside you for this tour. One last show tonight, give it all you’ve got. I am the proudest.”

Timberlake is now set to resume his world tour in South America, with Argentina as the next stop in late March.
