The upcoming film The Parenting, starring Lisa Kudrow and Brian Cox, has revealed its wild new trailer.

This comedy-horror follows Rohan (Nik Dodani) and Josh (Brandon Flynn) as they invite their respective parents for a weekend retreat at a country house. However, their gathering takes an unexpected turn when new guests arrive, only to discover a sinister, 400-year-old entity lurking in the shadows.

Ahead of its debut on Max later this month (March 13), HBO has dropped the latest trailer, offering a glimpse into the eccentric and chaotic characters as they initially clash before confronting a terrifying evil.

In one scene, Kudrow’s sharp-tongued character is seen being attacked by a “demon dog,” while Dean Norris’s John takes an unconventional approach to handling the situation. As the true malevolent presence begins to take over the house, the question remains—who will survive the ordeal?

Alongside the leading stars, The Parenting boasts a cast that includes The White Lotus actress Parker Posey, Vivian Bang, and Edie Falco. The film is directed by Craig Johnson from a screenplay written by Kent Sublette.

While audiences anticipate Kudrow’s role in The Parenting, it was recently confirmed that the Friends alum will also be reprising her iconic role as Michele Weinberger in the sequel to the 1990s cult favorite Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

Kudrow will reunite with Mira Sorvino as the beloved duo, with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle set to direct from a script by original screenwriter Robin Schiff.

Both Kudrow and Sorvino are on board as producers, alongside Laurence Mark, with production scheduled to begin in Los Angeles this June. Sorvino, who has since starred in Netflix’s Hollywood, recently shared on social media that the team is “pretty excited” about the sequel.

The Parenting premieres on Max on March 13, though a UK release date and platform have yet to be announced.
