David Hasselhoff’s Wife Pamela Bach Found Dead At Her Hollywood Home

David Hasselhoff's Wife Pamela Bach

Pamela Bach, former wife of Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and a television actress in her own right, was found dead at her Hollywood home on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office confirmed on Thursday through its website that Bach died by suicide. Her cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the head.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a death investigation at the 3400 block of Troy Drive in Hollywood around 10 p.m. Bach was pronounced dead at the scene which first reported the news. She was 62.

“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff said in a statement. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Bach’s agent, Sharon Kelly, described her client as a “force of nature” and a “proud mama” to the children she shared with Hasselhoff. Over their 17-year marriage, Bach and Hasselhoff welcomed daughters Taylor and Hayley Amber.

“My heart goes out to her family, her beautiful daughters and granddaughter who Pamela constantly gushes about and loves so dearly,” Kelly said. “Pamela often talked about how very proud she was of both her daughters and what they have blossomed into.”

On Wednesday evening, Hayley Amber Hasselhoff, the youngest of Bach and Hasselhoff’s daughters, reposted a photo of her parents on her Instagram Story. The 32-year-old actor and model added a white heart emoji above the image.

Bach was born on October 16, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and had an extensive acting career before marrying David Hasselhoff in 1989. Her television credits included roles on The Young and the Restless and Otherworld, along with appearances on The Fall Guy, T.J. Hooker, Superboy, and Viper.

She met Hasselhoff on the set of his Emmy-nominated series Knight Rider. After the show ended its four-season run on NBC in 1986, the couple wed in a private ceremony in Studio City.

They later brought their real-life relationship to the screen when Bach appeared in Baywatch, the hit beachside drama starring Hasselhoff as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon. Between 1991 and 2000, Bach played multiple characters in 14 episodes of the series.

In a 1989 interview, Bach dismissed any notion that she landed her Baywatch roles due to her marriage to Hasselhoff. She acknowledged that having his last name was “great baggage to have” but insisted that she never used it to her advantage.

“Just because he’s the star and producer [doesn’t mean that’s how I got the job],” she doubled down. “I know inside myself that I cannot negate the fact that I know my lines, I’m always on time, I’m very professional and never pull any weight on the set. In fact, I go the opposite to make people feel more comfortable. I rely on my own laurels.”

In 1990, a year after their wedding, Bach and Hasselhoff welcomed their first daughter, Taylor. Two years later, their second daughter, Hayley Amber, was born. The couple separated in the early 2000s and finalized their divorce in 2006.

“May 2025 be filled with beautiful moments, laughter, and all the blessings your hearts can hold,” she wrote. “Here’s to a year of making cherished memories, spreading joy, and embracing every precious moment!”
