Kevin Jonas issued a stern warning to his fans after revealing a recent health scare and surgery—and his message is particularly crucial going into summer.
On Tuesday, June 11, the eldest Jonas Brothers sibling, 36, took to TikTok with a short but important update. He wrote in the caption, “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked.”
The video showed Jonas speaking to the camera while reclined in an exam room chair at a doctor’s office.
“So today, I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head,” he began while zooming in on the spot on his forehead.
“Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow. And now, I have to get surgery to remove it. So, here we go.”
Later in the clip, Jonas slowly peeled back the gauze to peek at the surgery site. He made a grossed-out face but covered the area with an emoji so viewers couldn’t see it.
“All right. I’m all done. Now it’s time to heal. Heading home,” Jonas said while sitting in his vehicle afterward. “Make sure to get those moles checked, people.”
In the comments, fans reacted to Jonas’ skin cancer news and advice.
“Forever jonas fan and dermatology RN!!” one TikTok user wrote. “Love this PSA, and you. Everyone wear their SPF too!.”
Another fan commented, “I hope you are okay and safe. Sending you all our love, Kev.,” as another echoed, “Wishing you a speedy recovery!”
Yet another follower declared, “That and always wear sunscreen!! Glad you got it all sorted and wishing good healing!”
