Well well if it’s not awesome videogames with groundbreaking features or, fancy expensive system configurations then the very thing that swoons a gamer’s mind is a gaming console. Hello gaming geeks and peeps, welcome to GizmoSeries, and today we will be discussing Sony’s latest gaming console, the PlayStation 5, and its launch date in India.
Sony unleashed its latest gaming console this year, after seven years to its predecessor i.e., the PlayStation 4 which was released back in 2013. The PlayStation 5 packs some unique features that set itself apart from its competitors as well as its predecessors. The brand new console design was revealed at the PS5 unveiling event which took place in June, this year.
Just like anybody would’ve anticipated, the brand new gaming console which the franchise is releasing after 7 years looks absolutely the sexiest thing that has ever existed. The very revelation of the console design has hypnotized so many people that during the pre-order of the console the server at online shopping sites (like Amazon, eBay, etc) crashed resulting in putting the pre-order operations on a hiatus. Also, the first batch of the consoles released by Sony to the retailers has been sold out during the pre-order phase.
Moving beyond pre-order, the gaming console would be available in the commercial market worldwide from November 12. In India, it will be available from November 19. Let us take a look at some of its features:
- Storage – The console comes with a custom 825 GB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD with a compression speed of 8-9 GB/s and an uncompression speed of 5.5 GB/s. The SSD storage type is paired with 16 GB DDR6 RAM.
- Processor – The console is powered by 8 Zen 2 cores clocked at 3.5 GHz paired with AMD RDNA 2 GPUs 36 CUs clocked at 2.23 GHz. Both have the capability to run on variable frequency.
- Display – The PlayStation 5 will support up to 8K resolution delivering at 120fps refresh rate. It will have HDMI 2.1 display port but will support previous versions of HDMIs. Regularly, the device has the capability to run games on 4K UHD with 3D surround sound.
- Other features – The PS5 comes with backward compatibility i.e., the console can run 99% of the games that were made for its predecessor (i.e., PS4). The controller will inherit the basic design of the PS4 controllers but will come in a variety of shades. It will also comprise of adaptive triggers which will provide feedback to the user for whatever that is happening in the game. The console will also have USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, an ethernet port, and support for WiFi 5.
