Netflix has announced that Charithra Chandran, known for her role as Edwinda Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2, has joined the cast of One Piece Season 2 in the role of Miss Wednesday. This news comes at the end of a flurry of announcements about the hit live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga. Production on Season 2 is currently underway in South Africa, and fans are eager to see what new adventures await the Straw Hat Pirates.

Miss Wednesday is a Baroque Works agent who initially runs afoul of the Straw Hat Pirates, but some new information about her loyalties comes to light in the Arabasta Saga arc. This new character joins a lineup of familiar faces, including Katey Sagal and Mark Harelik, who will play Dr. Kureha and Dr. Hiriluk respectively, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will take on the role of King Nefertari Cobra. The new season will also see the return of characters such as Alvida, Buggy the Clown, and Gold Roger.

The Straw Hat Pirates themselves, led by Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, will once again be at the forefront of the action. Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Mackenyu, and Taz Skylar will reprise their roles as Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Zoro respectively. The new season promises to bring even more excitement and adventure to the series, with a range of new characters and storylines set to unfold.

While some may be waiting to see who will play the role of Tony Tony Chopper, the crew’s eventual ship’s doctor, no casting for the character has been revealed yet. However, fans have already been treated to a range of new additions, including David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5. Other new faces joining the series include Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, Clive Russell, Daniel Lasker, Julia Rehwald, Rob Colletti, Ty Keogh, and Werner Coetser.

One Piece Season 2 is expected to drop sometime in 2025, with the first season currently streaming on Netflix. Fans of the series are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates, and with a talented new cast member joining the fold, there’s sure to be plenty of excitement and drama to come.
